MRP related to batches with expiry date

Hello gurus,

I need your help to understand how to resolve following requirement: perform MRP for batches calculating expiring date. For example, if I have stock enough but it is going to expire I need to plan my replenishment through MRP at a fixed date, is it possible?

MRP will not do such checks (maybe possible thru user-exit).

You have to take appropriate action with your stocks, e.g. implementing recurring inspection.

Then you can execute QA07 to create inspection lots and move material into status quality or even blocked stock.

Once this is done, then MRP can use its standard approach.

However, if you really have old stocks close to expire, then you should rethink your planning parameters for this material. Just ordering more stock will not solve your issue with old stock, it will just create more stock that will expire later if you dont find a customer or cannot consume it in the window of receiving to expiring.
