Historical data load into 0IC_C03 SnapShot

Hi all

Can anyone help with the following issue.

We have setup the SnapShot scenario for inventory management and are currently planning to move this into production. Initialization of future data are fully covered however we have an issue identifying how to get historical data into the SnapShot scenario.

As the opening balance is only valid from the data this is initialized and onwards how can we repopulate the historical data in the SnapShot scenario. Don't we need an ultimo opening balance at some point in time to get the correct stock values and quantities with the material movements.

As far as we can tell we are not able to use posting and/or document data as selection criteria for the stock initialization.

As far as we can tell the options are as follows:

1) Historical data are loaded from an existing inventory cube to IC_C03 where an opening balance has been setup. What if this isn't present ?

2) The opening stock is regarded as zero at a given point in time and material movements loaded from this point on. Wont this however provide the wrong picture when aligned with the actual opening balance (current month).

3) All historical material movements are loaded without first loading the opening balance - however this will required that we push every single historical material movement into 0IC_C03 since the dawn of man...

Any help and comments are much appriciated....

/Frank

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand your issue. The snapshot scenario doesn't use 0IC_C03 and you cannot get historical data from a snapshot (unless you save a snapshot for every day past-present-future). Most installs use the 0IC_C03 cube to get historical inventory which would be based on the BX extractor and BF records in the past.

Snapshots are typically data taken from 0IC_C03 or BF and BX directrly and inserted into an ODS/DSO nightly (no historical data, just a snapshot of the current inventory situation as of the last load into BW).
