there is a new content repository which is delivered in ECC (ERP 6.0). Our EHP4 installation all have a content repository named ED (EDX: Billing Consolidation for EBPP Archive Repos.) which connects to ip 10.26.24.44 with port 1090. SAPNote 308977 is related but not updated with this information.

NIEHOST_UNKNOWN make sure that content server host is registered in the hosts file, and you can ping it.

Hi,

>WARNING => Connection request from (1/2/0) to host: P25214, service: 1090 failed

>(NIEHOST_UNKNOWN)

This is the famous P25214 gift the SAP developper forgot to delete from the R/3 system.

Check in transaction OAC0 The "HME_CONTENT" content repository.

You will find

Version no. 0045 Content Server versio

HTTP server P25214:1090

Port Number

HTTP Script contentserver/contentserver.

And so, the ICM tries to connect periodically in every SAP R/3 customer's network to a server named P25214 on port 1090 which has very little chance to exist !

It took me a while to find out what were all these P25214 errors in the ICM trace !

So this error message is "standard" and not relative to the original poster problem....

In addition to what Juan mentions, check the log in transaction SMICM. Another issue you might run into is the lockout of ports below 1024 (these are owned by the root account on most Unix systems). Here's a note that discusses how this can be changed: [Note 421359 - ICM: Binding ports < 1024 on Unix|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/421359]

Hope that is helpful.

Make sure your ports are setup in SMICM...

As far as i remember you need at least parameter

icm/server_port_0=PROT=HTTP,PORT=80
