Empty cells on Drill Down while result rows are filled

Hi

I am using BEx for BI7.

I Have a query on a DSO. The query has one KF (of type TIMS, and summed) in the columns, one Characteristic in the rows and another Free Characteristic.

When I run the query this way - everything is good.

When I drill down according to the other Characteristic - all the cells of the KF become empty except for the Overall resutl cell which contains the same value before I drilled down.

This is weird because when I navigate the ODS whithin SAP-GUI (T-code: RSA1) I can see the detailed values of the KF according to all Characteristics.

Can anybody help me figure this out? Why do the cells become empty on drill down???

Thanks,

Yaniv

HI,

Do you see * or are the rows blank in case of key figures ?

The characteristic values whitin the rows contain values (no # whitin them). The problem is that all KF values are empty...

Is the KF a restricted key figure?

Hi Partho

This is a simple query. I have no RKF or any other filters...

Thanks

HI,

Please elaborate the problem.

If the data is visible at the data target or infoprovider level, then the same is reflected at the query level.

Thanks.

please try testing with these cases,

1. run the query only with one characteristics(available in Free Characteristics) and check if you get values for KF..

2. try swapping the two characteristics and see if you get values for KF

let us know what are the results.

Hi

swaping between the characteristics doesn't help.

I'll describe the problem furthermore:

1. The problem occurs when I Filter characteristic_A to a certain value and Drill-down according to Characteristic_B.

2. When I navigate in the DSO using RSA1 - I can see that there ARE records with values for the KF according Characteristic_A & Characteristics_B.

3. There are no other filters/selections , and there are no special settings for the KF (on query desiger)

Thanks

this is excatly the problem - The data is not reflected at query level... could this be a bug?

Hi,

Is your key figure value available in ODS for a combination of Characteristic_A and Characteristic_B ?

Also tell what is the unit for the key figure you are using.

Give an example with value where in ODS you are seeing data for the combination of the two characteristics (one used as a filter and one in a row at the query level)

Thanks,

Kartik

1. The key of the DSO is Char_A and Char_B.

2. The unit of the KF is TIMS (time), aggregation is configured as Summation.

3. Example of the problem-

First step in query navigation:

Char_A | KF

ABC | 11:00:00

Second step in query navigation (Drill down according to Char_B):

Char_A | Char_B | KF

ABC | DEF | (blank)

ABC | XYZ | (blank)

ABC | GHJ | (blank)

RESULT| (blank)

RESULT| | 11:00:00

Thanks

There is no difference between first time and other times.

Amongs the things I did in order to understand the problem was to empty the DSO and re-load it from PSA - it didn't help.

Hi,

In the data target for which value of Char_B in combination with Char_A value as ABC do you get 11:00

Thanks,

Kartik

I get the result 11:00:00 for the same combination as showed in the previous message.
