Export PDF with predefined format. BI 7 - WAD 7.1

Hi Experts,

I want to export web template to PDF format. I am using standard Export command. But as per constraints specified by SAP, PDF losses all formatting and web items get printed on below other. HTML tags are ignored.

But we want to keep the format of the template in PDF. We dont have any problems in creating another web template or some other option. But we need "FORMATTING to be displayed in PDF".

I went thogh the forum and one post talks about using Report Designer. In that case how do we link "Report designed in Report Desinger" to this web template.

Please suggest.

BI 7 & WAD 7.1

Br,

Nilz

    Hi

You are not linking between the Report Designer to Webtemplate as far I know. You just format your report on the Report Designer . Later on As usually you can call the formatted report in your web template through Data Provider (Query ) At wad 7.0

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Nilz,

As Aduri explained before you can use the report designer to format your reports. This can be executed in java web directly and also exported to PDF. Or you can include it in your web application with the report item. The format will stay the same for the report item.

To further answer this question maybe you can give us some details what you mean exactly with formatting? Which formats do you wish to be retained?

The standard template which is used to export to PDF is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT. So if you want the items to appear in a different order or you want a few items to not appear at all you can copy this template and change it accordingly.

    Best regards,

    Janine

      Hi

We were also facing the issue..even no one got that solution..still it doesnt work properly in PDF ..if we have many DATAProviders in the ANALYSIS ITEM..it print one below the other..

Anyway..there is another option to print is...if you have EP, then you can call iview to print your template as it is..

Also while printing..page width may not be sufficient..so u copy ur template & in the copied template,,just have you dropdowns, text time, table & chart & remove the CONTAINER & other stuffs as it gives more space...

      hope this helps..

      Thanks
