varient confuguration

Hi pp gurus

I am doing scenario varient conf.

I made charactristics,class,values and assigned it material master of finish product(strategy 25)

Also done cu 41

Now when i take mrp rune against sales order or cir it creats planned order with order type KD which is not allow me to convert production order. Then how can do the confirmation and good mvmt

Please help me or if possible tall me the whole scenario in short up to goods mvmt

Dear Tara,

As you are saying that after running the mrp, system is creating the planned order with order type KD and because of the order type KD system is not allowing you to convert planned order into production order, right?

My suggestion is first check the CIR , there i think you have given the reqmt type different than KEK.

If you are using the strategy 25 than reqmt type should be KEK.

Go to spro, demand management-planning strategy and select the strategy 25 and check the reqmt type for customer reqmt.It should be KEK.

Check this configuration.

Hi,

As i know, you should add the object denpendency for the variant configuration, and then maintain the configuration profile.Although i don't use the strategy 25, i think it's similar to 20 strategy.

r u using discreet anufacturing right? make sure not repetative manufacturing.

if repetative then results are ok.

Hello Tara,

where do you start your process?

My master data in short:

1) Material master

Type FERT.

Item category group in SD: 0002 (Configuration)

MRP procurement type X (inhouse and externally)

Strategy group 25 (Make-to-order for configurable material)

2) Additionally of course the variant config related settings, and config profile etc.

3) Maintained BOM and routing for material to be able to create Prod order

With this I can run the following process:

1) Create sales order, configure in make-to-order mode with item category TAC

2) Run MRP e.g. MD50 and create planned order

3) In MD04 I can convert the planned order into a production order

So, in general your set-up looks ok. Where does your process fail in detail?

Pls check consistency of Configuration in CU51 : Configuration simulation check.

Whether your configuarion is consistent or not.
