Questions to be asked during change of SAP production server ( new )

Hello friends,

One of my clients is going to change the existing SAP production server. There would be some time gap between de - installing the existing one and installing the new one, say for example 7 days.

Can some one let me know what are the questions / points which have to be asked to the client and taken care of by me to have a smooth transition.

Thanks,

Narendra

    Hi Narendra

is your client going for upgradation?

then you have to confirm whether it is a technical upgradation or functional upgradation

if it is technical then the major work is of BASIS people

but if it is functional upgrade then if PP is upgraded or not have to be checked

then the process is like a new implementation and then you have to do again as-is and to-be study and blue-printing like stuff

    so you can refer that

    Hi Narendra,

Continuing with what anish has suggested, first check out whether it is functional or technical upgrade. For technical you need not worry anything about but when it is functional you need to check for version upgrade has been planned for. Accordingly check the config settings whether has been moved from the older version to newer version & also check the individaul transaction that the client has been executing.

hope this will give you some idea.

    regards,

    Shaiz.
