    Hi:

In any logistic process if materials (Input as well as FG) are managed in batches you need to specify the batch in every transaction,i.e. from procurement to sales you need to enter the batch for indivisual business transaction,so batch determination in SAP helps you to determine the batch of required specification automatically in indivisual transaction based on the rules defined. Eg: Foe X raw material there must be some stock available with the different batches, you are using this RM in production so in Prod/Process order you need to specify the batch, instead of manual entry batch determination help you to determine the right batch based on the configuration you have done for the batch detremination and the rules defined for the batch determination.

You can configure the batch determination in Logistic General:

IMG >Logistics - General >Batch Management-->Batch Determination and Batch Check

Here you configure the batch procedure as well as here you can define the sorting rules and the batch search strategy. (If required I could mention the detail config.)

Also you need to maintain the batch condition record on user menu:

SAP Menu >Logistic >Central Function >Batch Management >Batch Serach Strategy

Here you can define the serach stratgy for varios logistic function like inventory management/Production/Sales etc.

    Hope this would helps you.

    Cheers

    Rahul.

    Awards plz if helpful.

    Hi,

A posting is required for all goods movements in Inventory Management in order to record changes to the quantity and value of stock. You can only use batch determination for goods issues. Below, you will find some business transactions during which a goods issue takes place:

    Withdrawal for production/process order

    Internal material provision

    Return delivery to supplier

    Scrapping/sampling

    Transfer posting

    Regards,

    Deepak.
