Backwards Scheduling - PGI Date and MAD Date

Former Member

All:

I am getting route determination to work and the route is coming in but the schedule line is not backwards scheduling. I have introduced a new material type and new item category at the VBAP and VBEP level. I am assuming there is some configuration somewhere that makes the schedule line relevant for transportation planning. Again the route is coming in but all dates PGI etc. equal the delivery date.

Please advise,

Jeremy

Hi there,

Schdule lines are not relevant for transportation planning. Routes are relevant for transportation planning.

In your case check the transit time maintained in the route, pick / pack time & loading time maintained in your shipping point. If all teh baove times are zero, then you may get the issue you are facing now.

Also check what is the setting in Determine load time & pick pack time fields.

If there is no entry in both the fields, then the pick pack time & loading time were not maintained. The setting should be C to default from shipping point.

Also check is lead time in days is mainatined for the sales order in VOV8.

I understand. However these routes are working on all other item categories just not one particular item category that I just created in SD. I am lead to believe that I missed some config. that makes that particular sales order item category relevant for transportation planning and scheduling. Transit time etc. is on the schedule line when I use a TAN item for example.

Hi Jeremy,

If i understand correctly, are you saying your schedule line is not confirming the quantity? (is is zero)

Or you are only talking about Route and transportation Planning functionality?

Hi Jeremy,

Not sure, however might be, you should set the 1) 'Schedule line relevance' indicator for the item category in the item category detail screen(VOV7) and 2) 'Delivery relevance' indicator in the scheduline category details screen(VOV6)

See if this works. Give your feedback, we will try something further in transportation if this doesnt work.

I was looking there and what I did that worked which I thought to try yesterday is on the schedule line config. I changed the item category to 0 and the movement type to a 601, this gets the scheduling to work. I will however test this through the system and make sure we have no other issue.
