Material issue

Just a very simple question which is bugging my mind offlate.I will open the same question in SDN you can post your reply there to get full points from me. You are SAP guru.

When we create a service order and require material to carry out the job, then how many ways can we assign the components to it. How do we ensure that components have been consumed and no more in stock.

What role does confirmation of operation play. Is it possible that we confirm the operation and system issues the material component automatically to operation so as to finish the job.

Please reply as soon as possible.

Hope your scenario is external processing of operation.

If in routing components are assigned to operation, when you create a service order material will be posted to vendor stock(movement type 541) and when you do GR(101 movement type) for the service order the component consumption will be posted (with movement type 543) automatically.

You can ensure component consumption with the help of MMBE or MB5B reports.
