Good day Chaps.

I have successfully installed and configured ERM 5.3. The one issue that I have is that when I am in Change Role mode > Authorization Data > Objects By Class > Maintain in PFCG no backend logon appears to the PFCG screen.... Strange!!

No error message appears. I have checked and ensured the the ERM URL is entered as trust site in the security settings of my browser.

ComputerSettings_

Internet Explorer 7

Windows XP SP 2

Office 2003

SAP GUI 640

Norton Internet Security 2009 version 16

Hi Michael

After you click on "maintain in PFCG", a new screen opens where you get option of "synchronize authorization data" which actually synchronizes the authorization data from PFCG and you can mage changes in the same.

Hope this helps.

Hi Nitin.

Thanks for the prompt reply - Yes I do get that option, but my client wants the option to maintain their Roles in the backend via PFCG.

Please check slide 7 on the PDF on the following link -

That is what my end result should be.

Dear Michael,

Check this configuration -

Goto ERM- Configuration-Miscellanious -

Allow Editing Role Authorizations in PFCG - check whether this option is set to yes.

Hi Sabita.

Yes, I can confirm that the option 'Allow Editing Role Authorizations in PFCG' is set to YES.

Any other thoughts?

HI Michael,

Even We are facing some problem in ERM 5.3 ,

When we are clicking on 'Maintain in PFCG' we got error"FUNCTION PARAMETER "AUTHORITY CHECK"is unknown;

This is because of some bug in SP05.1

If you are having SP03 installed in your system(ERM 5.3) Then this option will work.

SAP is fixing this issue at the earliest.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Michael,

Before clicking on "maintain in PFCG" check the settings for your internet explorer.

Goto :->Tools:> Internet options:> Security:> Select Default:> check if it is Low.

If no then make it low and then try .

Hope this will solve ur issue.

Good day Rajesh.

After some additional investigating, my colleague and I found out that in Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > select Local Intranet zone > Custom Level >

Select either Enable or Prompt for the setting Initialize & script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting

Your security defaults need not change.
