SRM-MDM - Contract price qualified lookup table issue

Former Member

Hi MDM gurus,

I am trying to import SRM catalogue data from an excel spreadsheet into MDM via import manager and have noticed I need to create a compound field containing all non-qualified source fields for the contract price qualified lookup table.

My question is that we do not use 2 of the non-qualified fields at all, so how can I create the compound field for contract price without having these 2 fields in the source field list (as I don't want them in the load file)?

Can I somehow set these values to a default value for all records imported so these fields do not need to be added to the compund field?

All help is appreciated!

Best regards,

Nick

Hi,

Why don't you create a empty field and map it to those fields, and the default value which these non-qualifiers will get is NULL.

Hi,

Can you please elaborate?

Create a new field in the repository, or the file?

Can't you only map one source field to one destination field?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

You need to create an empty field in you import manager in the source fields column.. It will have null value and is used only for mapping purpose as in ur scenario. After select the source and destination tables in right hand corner on source fields right click and select new field, you can create as many new empty fields as you want... but remember they will contain only null values...

Cheers,

Cheery.

Hi Nicholas,

Cherry's approach is correct, create a new field(s) in Import manager and map this field with the non-qualifier fields. You can also assigned a default value to these field in Value Mapping and this is the exact reason of creating fields in Import manager i.e. when all the records to be imported needs some default value then we create a field in import manager itself.

Hi Cherry,

I am having trouble in import manager creating a new source field as there is an 'Add' button in the section between the 'Source fields' and 'Destination fields' boxes, and when I try to use this it always creates a new destination field.

Can you let me know what I am doing wrong, so I can create a new source field?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

I found how to do this now by adding field in the Source hierarchy pane in the top left.

Thanks for your help,

Nick
