Is the machine still doing something? Check SM50 and also check OS level activity... (may be log full/archiver stuck...)

Hi ,

Just check if you have the latest statics collected in your system.

Some times this happens if the statics data is not correct or up to date. If the system is very new then you will have to collect the stats before any patch or addon...

espicially if it is Oracle DB.

Ravi.

Hi ,

Sorry for the late reply,, you can check this on any of the installation or upgrade guides,,, search for statics collection..

here it is ..

1. Log on as user <sapsid>adm to the host where the database instance is running.

2. Open a command prompt and execute the following command:

brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t all -o SAP<SCHEMA_ID>

Example

brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t all -o SAPQO1DB

As far as I know it is not possible to have a "default" time for add-on installation or any other process because it all depends on the Hardware where it is running. If it takes a long time then you could try to use parallel processes but don´t know how many as this depends on how many CPU's in your server.
