Dear Colleagues,
We are using a NWDS 7.3 SP6 for BPM 7.4 SP11. We are planning to patch BPM to 7.4. SP15. To my knowledge no NWDS 7.4 exists. To which level should be patch the NWDS? Can we already go for NWDS 7.5? Is NWDS 7.5 only supported based on Windows 10?Regards, Alexander
Dear Alexander,
You are right. There is no NWDS 7.40, the NWDS 7.31 is also to be used for NW 7.40.
If you are using SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP, please install SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.3 EHP1 with SP version five levels higher than the number of your SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP.
In your case please install NWDS 7.31 (NWDS 7.3 EHP1) SP 20.
I don’t recommend to you to use NWDS 7.5, but you are right it is supported on Windows 10 64-bit version.
Additionally, you mentioned that you are develop BPM 7.4 SP 11 but your runtime system is NW 7.4 SP 15. I would recommend for you to take a look at the following blog post: https://blogs.sap.com/2014/03/26/nwdi-vs-nwdi-content/
I hope I could answer all of your questions.
Best regards,
Szabolcs Renyo

Hi Alexander,
The official way would be if you installed NWDS 7.5 on windows 10 and upgraded your runtime system to NW 7.5.
But I think NWDS 7.31 can work on windows 10 but it is out of support.
Best

Szabolcs

Dear Szabolcs,
Thanks this answer my question. Short follow up question. NWDS 7.31 is not supported for Windows 10. Next year we will roll out Windows 10. NWDS 7.5 is only supported with Windows 10. How we supposed to have the right version available? Can NWDS 7.5 been made backwards compatible?
Regards,
Alexander
