Creating update rules

Hi all,

I need to create update rule for info provider based on an ODS.

When I press F4 I cannot see the ODS in the list.

Any Ideas?

Hi,

In the transaction (RSA1) > setting > click on Show Generated Objects .. Which will display all the ODS.

Hi,

in the Administrator Work bench(RSA1)

in upper tab, U see SETTINGS tab, Click on that..

and Click on DISPLAY GENERATED OBJECTS

and click on SHOW GENERATED OBJECTS.

Hi Hagit,

There are some settings in BW system..

Although u create a new ODS..they may not be visible..

So go to RSA1

and Go to Settings tab..

Click on (Dislay Generated Objects) there and

again click on (Show Generated Objects)..

Then refresh the screen once...

and now u can see that ODS..and

go ahead with creating the update rules,,

Hi Hagit,

Go to T Code SE11

and give the ODS name in this Format.

/BIC/AXXXXX00.

The X Represents the ODS name.and click Display.U shud be able to view ur ODS.

I need to see the ODS in the list that contains all active ODS when creating a new update rule for info provider based on ODS.

Ur right ,i did not get ur question .

But now also it is not clear as to where u want to View ur ODS ??

Pl let me know as to Where do u Press F4 Option in UPdate Rule to search ur ODS ??

Hi SVU123,

I right click on an info provider and choose: Additional functions -> Create update rules.

In the next screen I choose ODS Object radio button and there I press F4 for list of active ODS.

The requested ODS does not appear in that list.

I have already checked the ODS and activated it again for any case, but it did not help.

If you know the ODS name just directly give it and press enter.

It should take it.

I think its just displaying some first 200 or 500 hits.

You can try by giving some thing like if your ods is 0SD_O01.

then 0SD_* and then press F4.

Hi,

Okay ,it may not display there but you can directly write it in your Update Rules !!

If it throws error there then it is matter of concern,else i think the purpose is solved.

can you create a copy of the DSO? the activate the Newly created DSO --> refresh the tree.

Hope you can find the DSO..
