DataSource in BI7 upgrade

We upgrade (techincal upgrade) the 3.x Version to BI7, it is true that we must have to Replicate and Activate all the existing Data Source again in BI7? i.e. go to RSA1 ->DataSource ->Right click on each Applicatioin Component and select Replicate Metadata?

Please advise...Thank you.

    Report: RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL

    How to upgrade:

    1. Identify the Root-InfoProvider

    2. Create Transformations based on existing UpdateRules below the Root-InfoProvider and

    all other InfoProviders below.

    3. Refresh the tree in the DWB if the newly created Transformation can not be seen immediately.

    4. Check syntax and recommendations and activate the Transformation.

    5. Check if all TransferRules which have to be migrated are active and all required source system releases are connected

    6. Create Transformations based on existing TransferRules below the Root-InfoProvider and all

    all other InfoProviders below.

    7. Test the new objects

    8. Delete the UpdateRules

    9. Delete the TransferRules

    10. Check if there are still TransferRules referring to the DataSource. If so, the dataflow containing these objects has to be migrated as well.

    11. Delete the 3.x InfoSource. If there are still UpdateRules referring to the 3.x InfoSource you will

be informed via popup. Cancel the deletion in this case.

    12. Migrate the DataSource.

    Undo Migration of DataSources

Use transaction RSDS for recreating the 3.x DataSource (see note 945229) for details.

    Best regards,

    Frank

      hi Lynn,

Log on this screen with administration user. Note that choose correct client of source system. For the reason, may be after upgrading, system require remote log on again as creating source system steps.

      Hope this helps
