Hi Experts,
We are working on a New Product Development project where we get revenue at the end of the project. So we treat this as an Investment project. Am not assiging the project to sales order.
Is there any way by which SD can inform the Projects Department through SAP regarding the new sales order? I mean how can we ask the projects department to start creating the projects in PS as and when a sales order is received.
Please suggest and advice
Thanks & Regards,
Kabir
Hi Kabir,

Hi,
You can utilize workflow work packages to trigger an email directly to the project department whenever a sales order is created. The person who creates the sales order can trigger the workflow from the same sales order screen.
Also you can create a notification manually to inform the project department giving the sales order details.

Hi,
Assembly processing is one of the ways to address such requirements. Saving of sales order will result in auto-generation of project structure.

Hi Shrikant,
Thank you for the helpful answer.
I believe in assembly processing, the project identification cannot be customised as per my client's requirement and moreover they have 7 plants. In assembly processing, the project identification will be created based on the Sales Order number and coding of Standard WBS with slight modifications in it.
1. Is there any other way to enable the project department to create a Project?
2.Or can we trigger some mail to projects through SAP, so that the Projects dept. can start with the project after getting a Sales Order.
3. If we ask the client to forward the printed Sales order to Projects department manually, will that be a right way to do?
Please suggest and advise.
Regards,
Kabir
