When I convert planned order to production order, system is asking for order type. How to make it automatic.
Dear
Assign your order type in production scheduling profile OPKP. The production scheduling profile to be maintained in material master work scheduling view.

Hi Paresh,
It is possible to set Order type without Scheduling Profile.
You can set in T.code OPPE.
But it will set default Order type for all materials in Plant.
So if you want to set different Order type material wise then you want go with Production Scheduling Profile.

a)Do u have a valid BOM,Routing for the explosion date?
b)Check the Bom and routing selection criteria in SPRO--OPL8
Also check whether the order type is allowed in your plant
If u r in SANDbox, then u need to configure few items to b compatible with prodn order types.
GET back to me with more details pls
Hi,
You can handle it by two ways,
- Assign your desired Order type in Production Scheduling Profile (OPKP) and then assgin that Production Scheduling Profile in Work scheduling view of Material Master.
or
- Go to T.code OPPE (Conversion of Plan Order --> Prod./ Process orders) and assign your Order type over here.
And don't ignore Production Scheduling Profile.Becasue it decides many things during creation and release of Orders like
- what other activities happen during Order creation or Release.
- How Batch No. will trigger
- Order type - This is the only possible way if you want to trigger different Order type in single plant material wise.
