Migration activities from SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0

Dear all,

Currently I am doing an integration between a legacy system and SAP R/3 using SAP XI. And in few months the SAP R/3 4.7 is going to be migrated to ECC 6.0. What will be the impact.

Because currently their are many scenarios that are using the RFC and Idoc transfers. How will affect the data flow. what are the precautionary steps needs to be taken to roll out ECC 6.0 without affecting the interfaces.

Your business system should change in SLD of XI system. In that case your ID developments has to be modified. You must also check if the system SID is same. If its different then idx1 entries should be changed in XI. You must also check that RFCs and Idocs structures are same. If not, reimport in IR is required. Otherwise no change in IR.

Hi Prateek,

Thanks for the inputs.

In this case, we are using two different systems for development and production means that SID, client, IP address everything will be different.

How do I transport the objects from dev to prod.

Could you please list down.

First you will have to do the changes I mentioned earlier on the Dev server. I would suggest to remove all related developments from production (with backup) and transport the newly developed and tested scenarios.

First perform SLD and IR transports. Before transport of SLD, you need to maintain new transport targets in SLD for the new business systems of production system. After maintaining this, go for ID transports.
