SMBLN,SMBLP fields in MSEG

When can the fiels SMBLN and SMBLP update in the table MSEG.

Pls Suggest.

The fields (MSEG-SMBLN, MSEG-SJAHR, MSEG-SMBPL) are only filled for

the function reverse material document. If this fields are filled,

you can post no more reverse for the reversed positions.

Basically, if you use direct methods to cancel the goods issue (ie via

MIGO ref the material document, or via VL09), then MSEG-SMBLN will be

filled.

If you use the 'returns' delivery process, then this does not DIRECTLY

reference the original goods issue material document, and hence, SMBLN

cannot be filled. The relationship with returns processing is more at

the sales order/purchase order level (and not down to the specific

material document level).

Hi:

Both these fields MSEG-SMBLN and MSEG-SMBPL are updated only when you reverse material document.If you cancelled the document using MIGO trxn code w.r.t. material document MSEG-SMBLN would be updated.

If case of returns,MSEG-SMBLN would not be updated,as it's not w.r.t. to original material document.

Note that once MSEG-SMBLN is updated you could not reverse the material document.
