PO revision numbers

Hi All,

The scenario is

I want PO revision numbers automatically populate on purchase orders. This revision number should be displayed on the printout purchase order along with the SAP purchase order. This should be populated automatically each time a purchase order is changed after the intial approval of the purchasing manager.

hi,

The field is normally used to when you wanna provide a new identity to the part / material....For eg: Exchange of the defective parts etc...when you get back the part/amterial with the new identity you use this field to recognise the replacements...

So, now as per your question, you wanna auto. fill the field, but if thinking practically how and from where it'll fill this field..jus because the revision number/level is unknown...

Also for the print function, check with the ABAPer whether it is possible to locate this field in the new SMARTFORM...

this abt it...anything else revert back...

I investigated this issue.

The revision number is not available for function 'print preview' in

ME2xN. But when printing the po / or using 'print preview' function in

transaction ME9F, system reads the revison number correctly.

This is a design feature.
