Live data refreshed in XML file not reflected in SWF file

Hi..

I am using Connection Refresh component (XML Data) to link XML data with a data range in Excel so that the figures in SWF file gets refreshed when new data are refreshed in the XML file. I have put the following under the Data Manager properties :-

XML Data URL : file://
Tranman_test\Dashboard\Test\Main\CarNotCollectedBC.xml

MIME Type : application/x-www-form-urlencoded

I checked the Enable Load option and selected the rows and columns where the XML data should refer to under the Range property.I have also checked the Refresh On Load option under the Usage tab.I saved it and tried to change the values in the XML file to see if the swf file changes value, but it did not. It is still showing the value it was when I first created the xlf file. Can anyone please assist me on this? Did I do anything wrong anywhere?

Plus, what I don't understand is when I clicked on the Preview XML button under the Data Manager property for the above xml file's connection, it is opening the

C:\Documents and Settings\shamim\Local Settings\Temp\PVW11.xml file in another window of Internet explorer. Shouldn't it open the xml file I was referring the connection to, where in this case :
Tranman_test\Dashboard\Test\Main\CarNotCollectedBC.xml ?

Please kindly assist me.

Thank you.

      Hi..Alan..

I see..if the Preview XML is meant for that purpose..then understood. But does that mean for each XML links we put under the Connection Refresh button, there will be a separate *.xml file created under the temp file for the preview purpose only?

But Alan, I don;t understand what you said here : "On the refresh, I had to use a javascript to read from a file. I then set the header properties not to cache". Where do you use the javascript and set header properties not to cache? I am lost here....

      Thank you for the assistance.

FYI, I don't get this problem when I open the swf from Firefox. IE6 has this problem. Haven't tried the behavior with IE7.
