ERP SP stack14 - error during JSPM - PortalRuntimeContainer is not active

Have installed ERP 6 system (ECC 6 with ABAP and Java stacks), with Portal on ECC stack. Solaris/Oracle.

When applying SP Stack 14 via JSPM get the following error:

Reason: Container PortalRuntimeContainer is not active at the moment and it is not possible to update sap.com/pcui_gp~bp_ass.; nested exception is:

com.sap.engine.services.deploy.exceptions.ServerDeploymentException: Container PortalRuntimeContainer is not active at the moment and it is not possible to update sap.com/pcui_gp~bp_ass.

Has anyone experienced this issue or can advise how to resolve?

Hello Tan,

The error message says that the portal is not running.

Try to start the irj application (which is the portal) from Visual Admin u2013 Server u2013 Services - Deploy u2013 Applications and if it doesnu2019t start check the default trace for errors.
