Hi,

Either you need to create the new repository by right clicking on MDM Server and selecting Create Repository option. This will ask the DBMS login creadentials and the repository name. By default Repository with Main table Products will get created along with default lookup tables, roles and a Admin user.

If you have downloaded Business Content along with MDM Installable which consists of archive files i.e. .a2a files (Standard SAP Shipped repositories) then you need to place these .a2a files in the path <MDM Installable>/Server/Archives folder and now open the MDM Console, Mount the Server, right click and select UnArchive Repository command which will ask for DBMS login credentials and the repository name. Here you will get the list of repositories (.a2a files), select the one and press ok. This will create the repository on the MDM Server.

Hi Shai,

Which database (SQLServer, IBM DB2, Oracle, MaxDB) you are using and which platform (Windows, Unix). If you are using Windows and SqlServer then you should not get this problem. But in Unix we need to assign explicit rights to the database user. Also check the logs by selecting Logs (under the MDM Server), you will get three types of logs, select Server and check the exact reason.

Hi Shai,

Check your Services in the Services.msc if your MDM server and the Database service are running, try restarting the services once from there.Restarting your MDM and Data base services should solve the problem.

Also check your data base listener and other configurations are correct.

Hope you have installed the correct matching version and patch for the MDM server and the MDM Gui.

Hope It Helped

Thanks & Regards

Hi Shai,

when you install MDM new ,you won't get the standard repositories/.a2a files automatically in the archive folder. These a2a files come along with the installable license kit. you have to copy those to the archive folder and in MDM console you can unarchive these repositories.

if you need any more info on this, pls let us know.
