Hello,

We have copied new co code from ref co code 0001. It has copied everything to new co code. Here i have a small question in Fiscal year/Posting period varient.

In ref co code(0001), fiscal year varient is K4 (calendar year) and it has assigned to co code, controlling area etc.,. Now, as per our requirement fiscal year varient should be Apr - Mar alongwith 12 periods and 4 spl periods. How i can achieve this? Should i create new varient or else, use std varient?

If i can change it may impact on controlling are settings...it it ture....Please help on this regard..

Thanks

Dear Krishna,

You can change the fiscal year variant from k4 ( Calendar Year ) to V3 ( Non - Calendar Year ) . This will suit your requirement . Also you can change the same for your controlling area.

You can use the standard V3 or you can create a new variant by copying the original V3 variant.

Check that the variant is applicable for all company codes and hence be careful before changing it.

Hello Krishna,

Go to OBY6 and Change the Fiscal year variant to V3.

V3 Is Standard fiscal year, which is having period From April to March. And the impact to controlling area will only happens if there is any postings carried out with current fiscal year orelse no issues.

Revert back if you have any doubts

Hi,

you can change the fiscal year variant to V3 u can directly change this in OBY6 for your company code and in OKKP u can change the fiscal year variant for controlling area as V3. Only requriement is that both for company code and controlling area same posting periods has to be there.

Hi,

K4 means Calendar year and 4 special periods, which would mean Jan - Dec + 4spl. If the requirement is Apr- Mar +4spl, then you need to change it to V3, which is available as standard.

The controlling area should also have the same variant. If you have jsut copied from an existing co code, is the controlling are common then. Are you working on a test system? are there other company codes assigned to the CO area? Is your system productive and with data?

Cheers.
