Hi All,
I have a scenario, whereby whether should there be a scenario to receive actual data from ECC6 or from BI.In another, my point is BPC gets data from BI 7.0 instead of ECC 6.0, will this be a good strategy or directly from ECC 6.0. if it is directly from ECC 6.0 what is the rationale ?
But BPC get data from BI 7.0 is there an advantage or disadvantage ?
I'm looking at Budgeting data
In case of extract actual data from BI to avoid getting different result between BI, BPC and ECC 6.0 to avoid data inconsistency
Currently our design is to extract actual data to ECC6.
Please advise
Thanks
Nathan
Hi Nathan
Loading Actual from ECC to BPC is Successful or Not
If Not what are the issues came..
Adv Thx

Hi Nathan,
I think it depends on what data you retrieve from BI.
If it is exact the same data as the real source data, just get it from ECC.
Advantage:
- no time delay since you don't need to go throught the BI-layer
- easy to setup interface within SAP BPC
- ease of maintenance of the conversion file in SAP BPC (is possible to maintain it by an end user)
If it is also data calculated on BI, it depends on:
- future use of BI.
If SAP BPC and BI delivers both same information you might consider not using BI (or SAP BPC)
anymore. In that case you are better of by interface directly from ECC and execute the needed
calculations on SAP BPC.
If both BI and SAP BPC are products needed for the future (allthought they may have the same data),
you are better of interfacing data from BI. Disadvantage is that a mistake in interface from ECC and/or
calculation on the BI-layer also needs to be corrected in SAP BPC. Next to that also risks in
interfacing with BI and SAP BPC are introduced. In any case I would go for maintenance of calculations
on 1 place.
- other data from ECC for SAP BPC
If the data needed from ECC is different, for instance a subset or less or more detailed or other info,
you may split the interfaces. In that way you are more flexible ie you are not depending on the BI-layer
if you want to have a change in required data for SAP BPC.
Hope this helps,
Johan
