Limit of number of character that can b entered in the header or item text?

Hi Experts,

Just wanted to know if there is limit on the number of characters that can be entered in the header or item sales text in the sales order , though it allows us to enter any number of characters , are all taken into consideration. The function module READ_TEXT is used to read this data .
