Is there a way to export a BI query result to an ASCII file

Hello Everybody,

Is there a way to export a query result to an ASCII file or is BI limited to exporting top Excel only? Having the flat file capability would be useful when the record count exceeds the record capacity limitations of Excel.

Thanks in advance.

Jhansi.

Jhansi,

I think you are mistaken... csv file does not have any limitation - you can have csv files with millions of records. Excel has a limitation of 65535 rows and if you open a large csv file in excel it gets truncated. Large csv files can be read using sQL server and the likes. You can open a csv file using notepad or tools like textpad and view the contents....

Also a csv file is a file where values are delimited by a , you can use RSCRM_BAPI or RSCRM_REPORT to export the query results using any delimiter you seek.
