How to link reports in business object

Hi,

I have two reports from two different universe mainly showing items and their on hand. I would like to have one report out of these two reports which should show the combined total of items common in two reports as well those items which are not common to these two report.

I tried by linking item from one report to another using Data Manager. But I don't know what should I do further.

Please advice.
