Are HR & NHR RTA's necessary for RAR 5.3 to ECC6?

HI all,

We have deployed AC 5.3 only RAR component .We have not applied the latest support patches RTAs(HR & NHR) to the backend system and the SP level of the backend system is low.

In this scenario, is there any way where can we pull the data from backend system for SU24-Authorization and static text data to upload into GRC Component. This requires to run the following programs i.e /VIRSA/ZCC_DOWNLOAD_DESC & /VIRSA/ZCC_DOWNLOAD_SAPOBJ. Since the RTA's are not installed, the above programs can't be run in our backend system.

We are connecting the backend system through a gateway server as currenlty our management doesnot want to use the tool on real time basis.

We would like to know the following :

a) Does the above data necessary to upload into GRC? What impact will it have if it is not uploaded?

b) Does ECC6 requires compulsorily HR RTAs or only NHR RTA's will do? What will be the impact if the RTA's are not applied

Thanks and Best Regards,

Ambarish

Hi Ambarish,

You question -

a) Does the above data necessary to upload into GRC? What impact will it have if it is not uploaded?

b) Does ECC6 requires compulsorily HR RTAs or only NHR RTA's will do? What will be the impact if the RTA's are not applied

Yes, both the files need to be uploaded to get SAP Authorization Objects and Texts into GRC Server. Whithout it GRC server will not be able to recognize SAP provided authorizations.

Any backend system including ECC 6.0 requires RTA to get backend data into GRC server. You install NH if you dont have HR implemented into your system. But if you have HR then you have to install HR also to get HR specific authorization data into GRC server.

In any case RTA is a must to pull and sync data from backend to GRC.

Hope it helps.

Hi sabita,

Thanx a lot for the reply

Is SP levels also very important .if they are low what errors will they throw up? are they critical or can we manage with low levels.

Hi Ambarish,

Yeas backend system minimum patch level requirement must be met before aaplying RTAs. There are RTA patches also which need to be applied with RTA.

Check the SAP note number - 1133167 for VIRSANH530_700 installation and Note 1133168 - VIRSAHR 530_700 Installation for patch level requirement.

You need to install GRC Java patches as well as there are some issues.

CC - patch 04

AE patch 05

RE patch 04

FF patch 04

Hope it helps.

Sabita

Hi,

The 5.3 Java SPs are all at SP05 now.

You can also use the two text files from a different syste, maybe even froma different customer. They contain the names for transactions and objects, as well as Su24 data. You could probably create them manually from your own system without installing the RTA, or just create a report that creates the same kind of data.

You can also access authorization data via a file adapter by exporting authorization data to a file. The file format should be described in the config guide.

Frank.
