New fields in a report

Hi,

I have a report created and I when I delete all objects in the Workspace Panel and I insert others BO doesn't allow me to insert them as a table, only allows me to insert them as a table. Before inserting objects I have the Workspace Panel empty.

Why I can't insert objects without any section?

Thanks.

Hello Alex,

please post some more information about your environment.

Are you working in the Crystal designer ? In Deski ? In Webi ?

If you are working in the crystal Designer I recommend to post this query to the [Crystal Reports Design|; forum.

This forum is dedicated to topics related to the creation and design of Crystal Report documents. This includes topics such as database connectivity, parameters and parameter prompting, report formulas, record selection formulas, charting, sorting, grouping, totaling, printing, and exporting but also installation and registering.

It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.

Also, all Crystal Reports Design queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

Best regards,

Falk

Hi Alex,

A lot will depend on the tool set you are using. My guess is that it is WebIm, in which case you have 2 choices

Go to the templates tab and select the table type (vertical table is the normal)

Drag the template to the screen - this will insert a table

From the data tab, drag an object to the table column and drop.

The second option is to select multiple objects using Ctrl and click and tehn drag them - this will create a table.

All of this is very much version specific so if you could come back with product and version that would be helpful.

I'm sorry for not specifying the tool I'm using. As you told, I'm using Webi XI and I just realized that there is a forum specifically for this tool.

I tried to do what you told me and worked it fifty fifty. I mean, I could insert two objects at the same time but BOXI displayed a message of incompatibility between both. And I think it's due to all objects are merged (linked in BO 6.5). So, I could insert three objects and I displayed contents but when I wanted to insert others BOXI forced me to insert a section and I didn't want.

How can I display the contents of all objects in the same report?

Thanks.

If the objects are incompatible then you have to merge them using the merge dialog. You can then use merged dimension in the same table. You can also use unmerged dimensions in the same report, but they have to be in different tables

Hope this help

Alan
