Extracting BW hierarchy in Web Intelligence

Gurus,

In BO how can I make the hierarchy appear just like BW Bex. Is there a setting or a way we can display the hierarchy in a sequence like what we have in Bex......

+Country

-

---

+ State

-

---

+City

-

---

+Zip code.

Please let me know how to handled BW hierarchies in BO and the best practices.

Hi Hardik,

i think you have to set up the Hierachies in BW. After that you extract the Universe and the Universe should display the same Hierachies as your BW.

There is a Universe Guide on OLAP Datasources where this is handled in Details. Maybe this helps you more.

Currently The universe is displaying the same hierarchy but we are not able to display it in the way we see in BEx with sign in front of parent node etc.

We would like to make all the nodes expandable when we want to view.

Hi,

i think thats not possible. You can only show them "as they are" in the Universe Designer. OLAP based Universes are very static and you cant customize a lot after you have genereated them from your BW.

If you need a definetly statement for this i would suggest you raise a Message in the SAP Service Marketplace.

Hi Hardik,

the Universe will show the hierarchy in a flat format but you can use the drill functionality in Web Intelligence to simulate a drill down.

You can find the "drill" option when viewing the report
