Hello Stephanie,

Which connection type do you use? Import or Live Data connection?

Please note that if you use Import Data Connection, not all the connection type support the sharing possibility.

You can get more information about this on our online help document at: https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/5339a2395ccd4befb047c625a15f...

There is also a KBA created regarding Import Data Connection sharing.

Thanks for the fast reply.

It is an Import connection to a SQL Server. As I can see in the documents, it is not yet supported.

But is it possible to create an import connection that all users can see automatically?

Best regards,

Steffi

Yes, you can create a shared import connection if they are of this type:

  • SAP BW
  • Google Drive
  • Google BigQuery
  • OData Services
  • SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign Analytics
  • SAP SuccessFactors
  • SAP S/4 HANA

Anyway, when you share access to the story (built on this model), they have access to the data queried by the user in the hardcoded connection. Also, people with the Modeller permission will be able to access the data.

H
