Project Versions

Hello PS Gurus,

We have an issue related to Project Versions. We are initiating project version creation automatically via user status with the help of suitable status profile and version profile. However, we learnt that components of the network don't inherit the user statuses set to network activities and hence don't form part of the version created out of the user status. The requirement however is to have components also a part of the versions to effectively compare the changes in the components between several versions created.

So is there a standard way to have components included in the versions created via user statuses?

Check whether components is checked in version profile, Tcode:OPTS.

just want to clarify..

you said "went that route already and the answer is negative..."

do you mean that when you looked in Tcode OPTS the Component tickbox is not checked? if so, make sure that it is ticked.

also make sure that the version profile you used is same as version profile in your project profile..

note that creation of project versions is not Real Time.. . This means, that under certain

circumstances, there is a time lag between the time when you saved the object and

the time when the project version is available.

Hello Ramesh,

Yes. We have the Components "Ticked" in the OPTS transaction and still they dont form part of the versions created out of the user statuses. Version profiles are also properly assigned.

I am not sure if its a constraint of the SAP version we are on. 3.1I :-). I see that I cannot set user statuses to components manually even because I dont have those options. So I am not sure how would they be part of the versions triggered out of the user statuses.

Do you still see a way to achieve this?
