Two different storage locations

Hello,

I need to know how can I set the Warehouse process to create two different storage locations (2 different buildings) with two storage types each (IGA1 and IGA 2 - incoming goods area) I want to make the reception into one of them (not anymore in 902 storage type) and I must have the possibility from the system to put them in IGA1 or IGA2.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

A

Few query before giving any answer to you, if you can provide answer to below query it will be easy to provide the suggestion in right direction

Since you mentioned two different building,

Are they in the same premises , if the truck comes in can they take half of the load from one building and half from another without any document or do they require any document

Is there any restriction at material level that you can store material 1 in building 1 only and Material 2 in Building 2 or mix in building 1 & 2

if the incoming truck is having mix material which belong to Building 1 and Building 2 can you unload at one common place and then do you have passage from building 1 to cross to building 2 or vice versa

Storage type is not Storage location dependent hence we need to see some separate logic for IGA1 & IGA2

Using the "Storage Location Ref", you can definitely link a storage type to a storage location.

Check OMLR for the settings "Special Movement Indicator" and "Storage location ref". You can influence which storage type (for example 902 vs 903) using either one of those settings. If you want the movements to be to different bins in the same storage type, then you will need some custom programming too.
