Hello Basis experts,
I have started working as a developer for a mid-sized company that implemented SAP a decade ago and didn't do much developments recently. It's a small company that only recently has started hiring developers.
The first thing that caught my attention when I accesed the system is the landscape: only two servers! DEV and PRD. It's the first time in my whole career that I see a landscape without a Quality server. I assume they want to cut costs on the server itself and the maintenance costs to keep it up-to-date with production. But it looks looks like a recipe for disaster once I begin doing developments, but maybe I'm wrong and there is some strategy to it or something (as my previous jobs were on big corporations with a wealth of servers and very stringent rules about development transport).
So, I'd like to ask you: is this landscape "normal" for small enterprises? Is it possible to do quality development with just DEV and PRD? Should I bring this no-QAS situation to my bosses?
Regards
