Error Message installing SOLMAN40 on WS2k3/ORA on a CENTRAL SYSTEM

Hello Friends. Here my error message. Plse Help....

Unable to start a service execution.

You cannot install ECC without a key that is generated in Solman, that is why you need to install first the Solution Manager.

Tkx for your answer. Biut some one has told me that it was possible to install ECC 60 whithout installing SOLMAN40. And to generate the key solely.

Are you meaning that I cannot avoid the installation SOLMAN40.

In the installation process you are asked for the key that is generated in the solution manager, so you have to install it first.

As I m obliged to install SOLMAN 40, what is the path to install and not copying.

It seems like it s a communication problem. Then I ve found an instruction in the install guide which is as below :

sapinst.exe SAPINST_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number_sapinst_gui_to_gui_server>

GUISERVER_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number_gui_server_to_sapinst_gui>

But te command is not recognized.

Please your advise.

As said in other posts, you are trying a system copy, not an installation.

Tkx for your help.

The problem is we do not know where is the link to the installation.

We are trying to install SOLMAN40 prior to ECC 60 install. But it seems also like we can directly install ECC 60 whithout installing SOLMAN40. Is that true. If yes, it seems like SAP did not send the right DVD. Because I m not seing the ECC 60 Installtion Master CD in my set of DVD.

Please help.
