Is there any way to find out which version of CR was used to create a report/

I have a customer that developed some reports between March of 2006 and March of 2009. We are trying to move those reports to a new server and can't get them to run. I can open the reports in CR XI, but some features like "Show SQL Query" are not available. I'm wondering if that is because the reports are not compatible with version XI?

If you try to save the report (to a new file), do you get a message? How are you running the reports?

    • So I think one of two things is happening:

      1. Since there is no message about upgrading the report when you save, the reports may have been designed in XI.

      2. The reports were designed in a version prior to 9.0. In these older versions you could manually edit the query without the use of a command. This type of report will NOT upgrade smoothly (I know from experience) and will have to be recreated from scratch in XI - you can, however, copy and paste objects from the original report so you don't have to manually recreate and formulas or parameters.

Show SQL query is not available if the reports are based on PC type DB's like Pervasive or DBF etc.

Open the report and click on Database.... Set DB location. Expand the connection properties and you should see the DB driver used.

Need to know what it is....
