When I restore a test copy of my company , I want to change the company name and color each time so I have a visual reference that I am in the right company. I run a SQL script after the restore which changes the company name ok but the company color OADM.Color does not change when I log into the company for the first time. Do I need to set or reset something to force this change?
You may try to set a color manually after restoring the database.
Administration --> System Initialization --> General Settings > Display tab>Color
Choose a color and update.
NOTE: This color update may affect all users.

Hi Gary
You could also try adding a bitmap or background picture to distinguish the 2 databases from each other. Just one question, are you updating the color field direct in SQL ("I run a SQL script after the restore which changes...")? If so, please do not do this as SAP will not support you if something goes wrong or you accidentally run the script on the live database. It is always best to use the SAP tools, even if it is for a test database.
Also bear in mind that certain settings could be for all users or user specific. In this case the color for the company is copied to each user profile. The reason it does not work is that you are only updating the one table. This once again proves our point on not updating directly!
Kind regards

How about the second time you logged in?
Thanks,
