Hi Manu

Answers to your questions

What is project in Esourcing

A Project in SAP E-Sourcing is nothing but Sourcing project management or Catagory management as we call it.

To explain you in simple terms, its the project management tool with in the SAP Sourcing application that the Buyers can use to run sourcing projects for categories of spend, so that they can track the benefits of the events that are linked to the sourcing project and manage their spend better.

For example, if the Spend analysis tool has thrown light that the company is spending maximum in the following 5 categories, they can run sourcing projects to get greater benefits from the Supply base, the procurement team can create a sourcing project and then create Events like RfX and auctions, then create contracts from these auction and RFx results and further on all purchases against this going through the benefits of running such projects can be tracked,

The Strategic procurement team can report their performance metrics that are KPI's for all significant cost reduction projects accross the enterprise

Also can we create shopping cart in ESO(Iguess no..pls correct me)

You cannot create Shopping cart in ESO, for this you need to integrate the ESO with either SRM or with SAP R/3 to push demand.

Demands can be pushed in 3 ways into ESO

1) From SRM (there is no standard integration, you need to develop this)

you create an interface in XI to carry the SC into the RFx of SAP ESO

2) CPPR (Collective Processing of Purchase requisitions) SAP ESO integation with SAP R/3,CPPR is available from SAPE-Sourcing version 5.1, this will push all the Purchase requisitions from SAP R/3 MM to SAP ESO RFx Draft

3) From anyother SRM or ERP solution over which SAP ESO sits as a sourcing application, you need to develop these interfaces

Also do we need to replicate all the master data from ECC to ESO

Yes, you can replicate Master Data from ECC to ESO, you need to implement the ESO-ECC integration vide consulting note 1115679- SAP E-Sourcing-SAP R/3MM Integration.

You can replicate Materials, Product categories, Vendor Master and other related FI/COdata along with Contract related data

Incase you have very minimal master data, you can do it through CSV upload, or even create local master data in SAP E-Sourcing

Hope all your questions are answered
