Detailed Navigation width

Hi Guys

I am trying to change the detailed Navigation wifth for Light detailed Navigation from 220 px to some value.

I have searched few forums and trying similarly but I am not successful.

Could any please provide step by step solution. I shall try to explain what I did

1. downloaded par to local system (com.sap.portal.layouts.framework.par.bak).

2. I have created a Portal Application say MyFramework and did not create any portal Object.

3. I Importes separately all the JSP pages ,Images and Script Files. There are no java Classess Available.

4. I did not create any Component but the whole portalApp.xml file from the par file to my new Application

5. I opened the 2 javascript files WAandNavPanel.js and list_navpanel.js and changed the width defaultExpWidth = 120

6. I saved and Exported and restarted the Portal.

No changes reflected. please let me know was there any problem in Importing the par file or do I need to create a separate framework page . please help

Please let me know any Ideas even few steps to import the above PAR file properly also will help and let me know If I need to deploy with same name or different.
