Slim client runtime files

A product we use includes crystal reports, but unfortunately they don't appear to have bundled in the merge modules as required.

Result is that all clients who run the application need to have a version of crystal manually installed (which we're licensed to do).

However, would be interested to know if there is a slim, cut down version which doesn't include all of the developer add ins etc, so that they can at least view reports displayed from within the application.

crystal version X

Thanks.

Hi Benjamin,

As i understood you want to deploy your application without installing Crystal Reports on each machine.

If we are deploying our application then its not required to install Crystal Reports on each machine.

Go through this link and you will get all info regarding deployment.

Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET Runtime Distribution - Versions 9.1 to 12.0

Try to search on Business Objects SDK Application Development » .NET Development - Crystal Reports Forums you will get lots of post regarding this.

If you have any questions regarding SDK then post your question in SDK forum.

All .NET SDK queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

Hi,

I might not have explained clearly.

A third party product i use includes crystal 10 reporting.

When you attempt to run these reports you receive a proprietory runtime error (no a crystal error).

The only way we have found to resolve is to install a full developer version on each clients machine.

It appears that THEY have not included the distribution packages (merge modules) when they built the package.

I am seeking purely an installer (which i can run individually on each client machine) and enter our key if required to provide for the dll's etc to be present on their machine.

I am not particularly seeking to have a full version of crystal on their pc's.

I'm not sure that the merge modules provided would be of use unless i myself was building a deployment package.

thanks!

Hi,

if you only need to view the Reports than you could try the Crystal Reports Viewer. Its like Adobe Acrobat reader where you can only view PDFs.

With CR Viewer you can only view CR Files.
