Regarding Change Documents

Hello Experts,

Can you please tell me;

1) how to set Change document flag for XUUFLAG?

2) what are the differences between change docs in CDPOS & change docs in USH02? In other words, purpose behind these two DIFFERENT change docs related mechanisms?

"Change documents" is an SAP term that pertains only to the functionality associated with the records stored in CDHDR/CDPOS tables.

USH02 table is "change history" and has nothing to do with the change document concept. So that's the difference. Change documents are mostly used to track changes in business transactions, not everything in SAP.

Anyways, if you google "change document concept site:sap.com" there is a lot of information available out there.

P.S. To get answers on SCN, please don't mix up different questions in one, chose a descriptive title, and specify what you've tried / searched for before posting the question. See this blog for some good suggestions.

There is a change document field in SE11, obviously, but it's not going to create something magically. Just like authorization checks, change document creation needs to be programmed for. It's not clear what is the context of this question, so I'm not sure it can be answered intelligently...

You might want to read more about the change documents and then post a separate, more detailed question, if needed.

Actually we are having a custom set-up similar to Centralized Firefighter Id concept. And like Firefighter Log Summary Report all changes are being captured, mainly based on CDPOS & Dbtablog.

Recently client noticed that users related changes are not being captured as they don't come under Change Documents. So they want us to set Change document flag for XUUFLAG & similar fields. However SAP is not allowing that to developers.
