Download Manager failure

Former Member

Hello all,

I get the following when trying to access my download basket.

Gateway Timeout

The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.

Reference #1.e10300cc.1228475077.f2d9bf

I added Netweaver 7.0, PI and ECC 6.0 IDES to the Download Basket. Now, whenever accessing it, I get an error.

When adding items, I did not get any kind of message saying: "Warning, you are approaching the limit. Surpassing the limit will inhibit any further access to the Download Basket".

What can I do now?

Thanks.

Solved. Went to another machine with Download Manager installed upon it and was able to download enough items so that the Download Basket could be viewed from the net.

Until you get a solution, here is a workaround:

You can download the files with your browser, goto service.sap.com/support -> Home -> My Download Basket -> select the file

Hi,

This might be a problem with the proxy settings. Make sure you have maintained the settings correctly, also you can check whether you are able to open the market place in the browser of the system you are trying to download it. Navigate to the download basket, then try downloading using the Download manager.

I went to the "support" are and got the following message

Gateway Timeout

The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.

Reference #1.f80300cc.1228485104.5656c13

The browser has indicated that the proxy has not been set.

Questions:

1. Why does the program not tell you that if you exceed a certain number of items in the download basket that the download basket will no longer work?

2. Is there a way that the download basket can be cleared so I can at least access it?

TIA

Hi,

As far as I know there is no maximum number of item to be placed in the basket.

If you are using a proxy then you have to set the proxy in the internet explorer,

Also in the download manager configuration you have to mention the proxy address, user id and password for it.

You can always delete the files in the download basket by accessing to the market palce.

-> I logged on this morning

-> All was working OK

-> It stopped working when 30 items were added to the basket

-> No proxy is being used.

No proxy is being used.

-> I would love to do so except I cannot access the Download Basket from Market Place.

-> I keep getting the Gateway error

Is there anything else that can be done to rectify the problem? I do not understand why this has happened?

TIA

Hello Casey,

did you ask your network administrator if they activated new firewall rules or something like that at the very monent when you got errors?

Hello...

I have come across the same issue once. but it seems to be temporary. something like a network issue i guess. It started working well as before the very next day.

Anyway, if you are still facing the issue, what do you see under your download basket in service marketplace?

Service.sap.com >> download >> Download Basket ??

Cheers,

Jazz

Hello all,

Thanks for the responses - but -

this is not due to a networking issue or a an issue with the browser I am using.

Again, all worked fine until I added 30+ items to the download basket.

I have found that I am able to access the basket using the installed Download Manager program (installed on this particular machine) and this seems to be OK.

I did not have the Download Manager program installed on my other machine so I was trying to access the basket via the web browser (which was not successful).

TIA
