How to plan the dependent requirements in the Same MRP area as header material

Please find the scenario.. We have two plants, one is manufacturing plant and other is CKD plant. Based on the Stock transfer order generated at CKD plant, materials are stock transferred from manufacturing plant to CKD plant. In order to differentiate CKD requirements at manufacturing plant, we have created a separate MRP area (storage location MRP area. Here it is KD10) in the manufacturing plant. Stock transfer orders are always generated with issue storage location KD10 at CKD plant. MRP senses this issue storage location and creating planned orders for the MRP area in manufacturing plant. Till here the process is smooth and there is no issues.

Problem starts here for the dependent requirements of the planned order. We want some of the child items to be planned under same MRP area KD10. But currently, all the child parts are always planned under "Plant" MRP Area. For eg., CABT is the main stock transfer material. CABP, ZABC, ZXYZ are sub assemblies under CABT and subassembly CAB00 falls under CABP. Out of these, we need to plan CABP and CAB00 under the same MRP area KD10, if the requirement for CABT is from KD10.

Please let me know, what setting should I carry out to achieve this.

    Hello

You can define the issuing storage location by setting the production storage location for the component in the bill of material or in the material master. If the issuing storage location matches with the storage location assigned to the MRP area, then your dependent requirements will be under the MRP area.

The two materials I have mentioned (CABP and CAB00) need to be planned both for plant as well as MRP area. If I change the Issue storage location at BOM or Material master level , it will affect the plant level planning. All plant level requirements will be defaulted to MRP area storage location. I don't want this situation. Please help

    • Hello

You can also define the issuing storage location at production version level, then use two different production versions, one for the MRP area and another one for the plant.

As mentioned by Rajen Madan , you can use the quota arrangement to select the production version or use BAdI MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS to define your own logic for the production version selection.

    Srinivasan,

Adding to what Caetano has suggested, you can take the following approach:

    (1) Extend the components to the storage location MRP area

    (2) Define two BOMs for the header material - one without issuing storage location, one with the issuing storage location at component level

    (3) Maintain two production versions corresponding to these two BOMs

    (4) Maintain quota at MRP area level for the production versions (at plant MRP area - 100% quota for the production version that does not have issue storage location, at storage location MRP area - 100% quota for the production version that has the issue storage location). Please consider OSS note 2551191 for this step.

Run MRP and check the requirement flow.

    Best Regards.

    • Hi Rajen

The problem here is that the quota arrangement is not considered by MRP at MRP area level in the standard.

Anyway, the quota arrangement can be used to default the second production version at plant level and the first production version would be automatically selected by MRP at MRP area level.
