ChaRM - deleting transports from Production import queue

Hi

We are on Solution Manager 7.2 SP04 and using ChaRM.

When we perform an import of a change cycle to Production, the transports don't get deleted from the buffer after importing. However, they do get imported from the Test system buffer after importing.

Anyone know where to check the config to see why these aren't being removed?

Thanks
Shaun

Hello Shaun Kitching,

It can be due to multiple reasons...primary reason is normally variant of you tasklist i.e.SAP 0 or 1.

Did you check these transport are from which cycle and you use which Variant of IMPORT

there are 2 variant with different import strategies as of 7.1 SAP0 and SAP1...SAP1 is to delete everything from buffer but not SAP0

kindly check below

Thanks

Thanks Prakhar....yes you are correct, this is related to the task list variant.

After posting this, I worked it out. However, I believe it works this way:

SAP0 - only deletes them from the buffer when you run an import from the task list. If you import urgent change or preliminary import it leaves the transport in the buffer.

The above I agree with 100%. Now for SAP1:

SAP1 - treats every import as urgent change and leaves everything in the transport queue.

We are using Continuous Change Cycle (for frequent BAU cycles) and Phase Cycles (for SAP Implementation Projects). Our Phase Cycles are set to SAP0 and our one Continual Cycle is set to SAP1.

I have checked the config and all our Phase Cycles are being deleted from the buffer, which is great.

This question is around our Continual Cycle which has SAP1. These are not being deleted from the buffer. I will update this Continual Cycle to SAP0 as well.

Thanks

Hello,

Typically , Urgent Change transport requests will not be deleted from the production system buffer after the Urgent Change is imported into production.

Then , the Urgent Changes will be imported again at the project import.
