How ot detect if contents of Text Editor were changed ?

Hi All,

How do we know if the contents of a text editor were changed ?

In my scenario if at all the contents were changed I want to trigger a confirm save popup. We normally make use of sy-datar to know if anything was changed, but that doesnt seem to work here.
