Hi,

I have installed SAP Hana Express Linux 64-bit edition. I am trying to connect to Hana Express server using JDBC. According to the documentation the port name I need to use is 3xx15 - where xx refers to instance number. I am not able to connect using that port number. I also noticed that the port 3xx15 is not being listened when I start the server.

According to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_hanaplatform/helpdata/en/ff/15928cf5594d78b841fbbe649f04b4/frameset.htm , I need to install client first. But I cannot find /usr/sap/hdbclient on my machine. Is there a separate downloadable for SAP client that I need to install first?

Hi Ram,

I could not find the location of the jdbc driver (ngdbc.jar) in the provided links nor HANA Client by Florian. Were you able to find the file within the SAP HANA Express installation?

Thank you,

Albert

The jdbc driver is still available in the HANA Client package you can download from SAP store (see link). It is contained in the folder client (you have to unzip the file JDBC.TGZ).

For HANA Express, the download manager for HXE 2.0, allows you to download the "client" package which contains also your required file.

To download the SAP HANA Client to get the required JDBC driver, follow the link in post https://answers.sap.com/questions/27655/index.html.

To connect via JDBC, follow the tutorial Connect to HXE using JDBC.

Regards,
Florian
