E-mail relay Issues with Exchange 2007

Hello,

We have installed and are migrating to Exchange 2007. We are having a problem making it work as the e-mail relay with our ERP system. We switched our QA system to use the new server and the e-mails donu2019t send out of the SAP ERP Application. This functionality does still work with the exchange 2003 server, but not with the new server. The only thing that we did to make the change is to change the IP address that is configured for the SMTP node in the SCOT transaction. We have had the OS team try and send e-mails through the new server by logging into the SAP server at the OS level and that worked. I have had the exchange admin check a number of times and he says that the new server is configured the same as the old one. We also have an OSS message open but SAP hasnu2019t been able to resolve the issue yet. We are on ECC 6.0 BTW, but I have also tried it from our DP and BI instances with the same results.

Since it still works with the old server but not the new one I think that the issue lies with the exchange server, but I donu2019t know what to tell the exchange admin personnel to check for or really how to trace and see what the error is. Since it works at the OS level it could still be an SAP application issue as well though. The error that we are getting is: u201CCurrently no delivery to jane.doe"at"nowhere.com, as recipient cannot be reached.u201D

Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

Hi,

As per your query you have to log this in SAP, because for exchange 2007 there are some patches.

Anil,

Thanks for the information. We do have an OSS message open on this and they have as of yet not recommended any patches. I have also done a search and found nothing. Do you know how I can find that patch or perhaps the OSS note number? We will also update our OSS message.

Thanks,

Mike

I guess SMTP relay on your Exchane mailserver is configured on IP address. If so then you need to add or change the IP address of you new SAP application server (that is sending the SMTP to Exchange) into the Exchange configuration.
