Hierarchy problem with Risk Booker characteristic

Hi all,

we are on BW 3.5 and having a prob using a variable Hierarchy which enables us to select one of two hierarchies in our reports.

The two Hierarchies are based on the Company Code (0COMP_CODE) infoobject.

They are basically the same only Hierarchy1 has more company codes included than Hierarchy2.

This functionality works fine, and when running reports we can select either hierarchy and it works accordingly.

The problem arises when we do not include the Hierarchy InfoObject into the rows of the query/report (but have it in the filter part).

So for example, running a report with Hierarchy1 selected, and no company code on the report, will give me the same outputs as having Hierarchy2 selected with no company code on the report.

When the company code is displayed on the report, the outputs are different.

Is this supposed to be the way the hierarchy works, as I thought it should filter depending on the hierarchy selected, whether or not the infoobject is displayed in the rows.

Thanks,

Shane.
